Come along with the work: the American state will pay $10 thousand to the remotely working settlers

Starting in 2019, the state of Vermont (USA) will pay people who will move there and work remotely (the employer must be outside the state), 10 thousand dollars within two years - to cover their travel costs, time in coworking, Internet , the purchase of a computer and other work-related needs, such a law was signed on Wednesday by Governor Phil Scott (Phil Scott), writes Quartz.

Grants are available for those who move to Vermont after January 1, 2019. The budget is designed for 100 people in the first three years of the program and 20 people for subsequent years.

Now in Vermont live 625 thousand people, the state is famous for its wonderful landscapes, excellent ski slopes and rapidly decreasing taxes. Vermont is aging faster than the rest of the US population - and this forces the authorities to be creative in the task of "rejuvenating" the state's population. In addition to the plan to attract remote workers, a program designed for tourists is also launched here (Vermont receives 13 million guests each year): those planning a trip to one of four specific weeks from April to October are encouraged to establish contacts with local employers, realtors and entrepreneurs - in the hope that the guests will decide to stay.
